I came all the way from Italy to fall in love with Scotland and its stormy weather. I graduated as a biomedical engineer but I wanted to be so much “out of the box” that I made a lifestyle out of it. I tried to get closer to sustainability issues and now I am working with the University of Edinburgh on a drinking water project. Since I can remember I was always fighting with someone about equality and human rights, that’s how I got involved with Amnesty International in Italy, first as an activist and then team leader. I have a name for every port I visited and I make too many questions. So many things to learn, so little time. My aspiration in life? Solving more problems that I can make!

I joined TEDxPortobello to bring people together and re-discover another level of human connection. Unexpected speakers can inspire, take you on a journey and leave you speechless. It’s all about the better shades of humanity. I am excited to be one of the organisers and enjoy getting my hands dirty. Two of my favourite TED talks: “We should all be feminists” by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and “What do you think when you look at me?” by Dalia Mogahed.
